Crane Lodge

Spanning over 2000 square metres, this unique site was populated with mature Spotted Gums and imposing boulders that set the tone for an exciting design. The house was set well back along a private road, accessible only by inclinator. Our brief was diverse. Provide safe pedestrian access to the home, renovate the inclinator run including adding an additional stop, yoga deck, swimming pool and spa, create areas for outdoor entertaining and a firepit area were just some of the structural requirements and challenges here. Apart from the mature trees and a handful of palms, we were also required to completely re-establish the lower-level planting that was previously non indigenous species. A special project with our clients that we have enjoyed additional collaborations with.

"I wanted Crane Lodge guests to feel like they were being nurtured by nature, so as part of that I wanted to create a forest bathing experience that led from the bottom of the site up to the top, with specific zones facilitating the connection to nature."
